WHAT IS INTERGROUP?
When several groups form in an area, they soon realize that they can better perform certain functions together rather than separately. So the groups may form an Intergroup that is directly responsible to the groups it serves. Intergroups spring from a need to provide service for a number of local groups and help distribute information about OA in a community.
Within Overeaters Anonymous, separate ‘Intergroups’ make up ‘Regions’ and then the ‘Regions’ (10 in all) combine to make up the OA World Service Office. Our Inland Empire Intergroup is part of Region II which serves California, Hawaii, Mexico and Northern Nevada.

To receive important information to help your meeting thrive:
Every meeting should have a contact person who will receive Intergroup communications and share it with their group members. We send out these communications to keep all groups and individuals informed about what’s going on in the Inland Empire Intergroup, Region 2, and OA World Service Office. Some examples of our regular communications are the Lifeboat, upcoming workshops/events, and Intergroup meeting information to help all groups.
NOTE: Whenever the group contact person changes, the group needs to notify the Intergroup by email: [email protected], providing the name, phone number, email address, and mailing address of the new contact person.
Additionally, each meeting group should have at least on person be their Intergroup Representative. This Intergroup Rep would attend the monthly Inland Empire Intergroup meeting to obtain pertinent information and report back to their group.
